If you wish to serve your lodger a Notice to Quit you do not necessarily have to give a lodger (licensee)
the same notice you would a tenant as the rights of a tenant and lodger are different. You should have set
out the notice period in the lodger agreement but if you want to terminate the term early because of a dispute
or other problem you should serve your lodger notice in writing and ask them to sign and date a copy. Here you
can download a Notice to Quit which can be served to your lodger, if needs be get an independent witness to be
present at the time of serving notice to quit.
